My father-in-law has throat cancer. after receiving 4 chemo and 30 radiations, his tumor still exists by 20-25%. Surgeon also refused for surgery.

India,  there are some other options you need to discuss with your father's DR.  One of them is a cancer drug, Eributex; also nick names the Martha Stewart drug.  Don't give up hope, I know it is hard as my husband and I are facing the same issue.

I just completed tx. for SCC Tongue stage 4A T2. My advise to you is to collect ALL of your records and go to a major center like Johns Hopkins, or MD Anderson. It sounds to me like your doctors are throwing in the towell.....and with only 20-25% of the tumor remaining, surgery may be the logical choice. But finding the right surgeon..is critical. I had my treatment at Hopkins. The staff at Hopkins was outstanding!!

I agree with Cam. I owe my life to MD Anderson.

God Bless.

Dittos to what Cam and Rick said. I had my treatment (rads, chemo, modified radical neck dissection) at Hopkins. The doctors there are phenomenal, and they've done major research into these cancers. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
