Appendix Cancer

My story.....48 year old male, on April 1 was hospitalized with a ruptured appendix, the surgeon explained that if my body could handle the toxins from the ruptured appendix along with antibiotics then it would be better to wait to remove the appendix; my system handled the infection fine and the surgery to remove the appendix was scheduled for June 1.  Surgeon called for a colonoscopy to ensure the inside of the colon where the appendix attaches was ok and low and behold a 2.5cm tumor was found in my sigmoid colon....pathology confirmed the suspicions.  Surgery was now to be two fold, 1 to removed the appendix and 2 to remove my left (sigmoid) colon.  Once the surgeon got in there the appendix appeared to be stuck to my left colon right at the tumor sight, so an open surgery to remove the colon and the appendix as one was completed.  Pathology confirmed that it was appendix cancer.  4 weeks later I'm still recovering from surgery and this past week it was recommended by 2 oncologists that I have a 2nd surgery to remove my right colon and then start a 6 month regime of FOLFOX chemotherapy.
