I had my lt kidney removed for stage 4 RCC in March 2008.  Was on Sutent 50 mg now on 37.5.  I was unable to have the contrast for my last CAT scan as my creatanin level was 1.98.  Other than drinking lots of water  is there anything I should be eating or drinking or anything I should not?  Someone recommended cranberry juice.  I have an appt with a nephrologist July 27th.  Thanks for any help.  Peggy

My husband goes through the same thing.  This week, his nephrologist had him hydrated with a liter of normal saline which brought his creatine level down to 1.0 and he could safely have the IV contrast for his CT scan.

Certain blood pressure medications are not good for creatine levels also AVOID Ibuprofin totally as it is not good for kidney function.  My husband's levels have been as high as 2.8 and are down to 1.7 but usually stay about 2.1.  Am sure your doctor will be able to help you with any questions - the ibuprofin was a biggie for us.  Good luck

Thank you for responding.  That sounds like a great idea.  Maybe we will have to do that next time.  My test results came out great.  All my positive lymph nodes are responding to the Sutent and reducing in size.  God is good.  Peggy
