Tarceva is a pill taken once a day, Alimpta is an infusion.   I believe the Tarceva is less harmfull to the body.   I had almost no side effects and some take it for 4 to 5 years that way.   Don't know much more about Alimpta.    God is great and God is good.

I was given Alimta for several months through IV but now I am off of it since it is not helping me.  My doc now wants me to take the other drug but I am in a high debate whether to waste my time.  I am surprised they did it in reverse in your case.

The Tarceva is helping manage many lung cancers for many years.    Mine dropped my Stage IV to almost nothing for 8 months.  Wish it had lasted longer.  One of the tumors started growing again.   The cells outsmart a drug and we must change.   There is a new clinical trial with Tarceva plus another drug that I am hoping I can participate in.   As of now, we're trying carboplatin plus alimta.    I don't think it is as friendly to me.
