After a year of chemo, and an unsuccessful Whipple at IU, there was some discussion of perhaps my Dad's tumor was a NET (less aggressive and treated with oral chemo "pills.")
Since his oncologist (Dr. Bruchner in NYC) was able to contain (size) the tumor and prevent it from metastisis for over a year, and his overall health was pretty good (except for stomach pains and lethargicness) his Doc's suspected it was a NET tumor.
Well, as of yesterday he did a special MRI with a pancreas protocol and it came back that it was NOT a NET but rather the same adenocarcinoma he was diagnosed with over a year ago.
I am sure he's very discouraged, but I look at the situation as not being "bad" but rather not being as good as we "hoped" for.
As a result, they say they may lessen his chemo so he can enjoy his days better. It's seemed lately that as soon as he recovers, he has to go back. His regimen in twice a month, two times a week, all day.
THANKS FOR LISTENING, YOUR FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED.
