Very severe symptoms!  I, too, had colon surgery st 2, no bag, and healed fine.  You seem to have a reaction to one of the drugs that were used, or possible kidney involvement.  That question (of kidneys) was asked quite frequently during my treatment, which is continuing into chemo every 2 wks.  ASK THE DOCTORS, or get different ones if their answers aren't satisfactory.  You could be dealing with permanent impairment.  PUSH WATER.  Drink as much as you can stand and then drink more!  Flush yourself and the discomfort may get flushed, too!Everyone's body is different, and I sincerely hope yours gets better, too.

HI

Need to drink lots and lots of water, also when you think  your colon is much shorter now and  waste will get through much quicker,

It does take some time  for your ssystem to get working again as it has  it has being put through a lot. Do you take  Dan Active that helps digestive system, and if I was you I would  watch what I eat, and also if problem is so severe go back to Drs and tell them imodium is not working good, they can give you other  stuff.

My wife has a bag where stool and urine goes in and is happy to have it as she was always running to bath room and sometimes did not make it.

Wishing You all the Best ..... Rob and Barb
