Hello Everyone,

My name is Mary D and I was diagnosised with Spindle Cell Sarcoma in July 2007.  It reoccured in March 2009 in my abdominal wall.  I have been going to M.D. Anderson for check ups.  I really don't know that much about Spindle Cell Sarcoma and can't find much information.  Everything I do find is very depressing.  Less than 5 year life expectancy, that stinks.  I have been trying to make my cells as healty as possible with plenty of fruits and vegtables.  Lemon water and alumin free baking soda to make sure my body is alkaline not acidic.

If anyone out there has been diagnosised or knows someone who this type of cancer I would love to hear from you.

Hi Mary,  I was Diagnosed with two types of cancer on Jan, 2007  Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor and gastrointestinal stromal tumor.  I did the chemo thing and the radiation thing and am in "remission"  I am due for another  scan in September,  I know the survival rate is not on our side but I have been inremission for 2 in a half years.  I have already beat the odds.  My cancer is high grade stage 3.  I'm not so much afraid of it comming back as much as I am afraid that I will never shake feeling like crap all the time.  There is a lot of  positive info out there.  Look up soft cell sarcoma,  although some of the info contradict each other.  I hope you find the answers that you are looking for.

I forgot to ask you if you had chemo.  Chemo and radiation are being used to see if it accomplishes long term remission which it seems to be doing in my case.

No I have not had Chemo.  I do not know yet if I will have it this time or not.  I sort of wish I had then maybe the cancer would not have returned so soon.

Where are you having treatment at?  How long was your chemo?  Did you have radiation?

I love to hear testimonies such as yours.  I feel like I am in a battle all the time.  God will only give me what I can handle.  I am so sorry you feel bad.  I don't believe there is anything worse than feeling like crap all the time.  That is exactly what I have been experiencing since my reoccurance.  I am ready for surgery so at least I will have some relief.  I really do hope you get to feeling much better.  Thanks for responding to this message.  God Bless You!

I had my treatment at EasterBrook treatment center in Omaha Ne.  After having had a tumor removed from behind my heart and another tumor taken off my bowels I under went a chemo cocktail of ifsomasifide(sp) and Doxiruben and also mesna For 8 hrs a day for 3days x 4 months and then ? radiation treatments to the upper middle chest area for 5 days a week x7 weeks.  I had to have at home treatment chemo that I carried around on a pack for 3 days.  In other words they chemod the crap out of me,  I would be afraid to come back if I were cancer.  My oncologist said that these treatments were not curative but will buy me some time.  They are trying differant combos on people to see which treatments have a better long term outcomes.   You would think they would pay me to be a guinea pig but Fat chance!
