Hello once again,
Removal of colon tumor successful thanks to the amazing Doctor Henry Hwu at Kaiser Hospital in Irvine. Prior to surgery there was a spot located on my liver, went ahead with the removal of colon tumor anyways. PET scan came back positive with tumor on liver (URGH!!!). Scheduled to see Dr. Arroyo at Anaheim Hills Kaiser for surgery consultation on the 29th of July. The date is too far away, anyone know anything about the proceedure and how it is removed? Down time, etc...I am a 38 Y O married female with two growing boys 5 & 2. Part two of my walk of determination. Praying a lot, this bigger than me and I know that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will deliver me through this, the human side of me is very afraid.....

My significant other has Stage IV cancer with mets to the liver.  He gets treatments and consults at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.  We had a 2 hour meeting with an oncologist and a liver surgeon.  The liver surgeon told us that if the cancer is in both lobes of the liver then surgery is not usually done.  Cancer drugs are amazing.  His CEA's started at over 700 and are now down to 12.  The oncologist is going for a full remission by holding off on colon surgery, pumping him with more chemo then when the numbers get down further, removing the tumor in the colon and biopsying the liver.  Sounds like you have a strong faith which is good.  God can do anything!  Hang in there.  It really is amazing what treatment does with cancer.  My significant other has had significant reductions in the size of the leisons in the liver.
