Second CKC possible

I posted this earlier today but realized it was an older post so I'm posting again:

I am 27, had a high grade dysplasia pap this year, followed with a colposcopy that came back indeterminate grade on interior of cervix and low grade on exterior, and just had a cold knife cone biopsy two weeks ago. I just got back from my post op today and the results from the biopsy came back negative for invasive carcinoma but that I have carcinoma in-situ (severe grade dys.) beyond the reach of the biopsy. My doctor and a specialist she consulted said I have two options. 1. have another conization done or 2. be more conservative and have a colposcopy every 3 months to monitor the growth. I do not have children but greatly want to in the future. I have had my yearly exam religiously and all pap smears have come back normal. Because of the aggresive growth of the dysplasia is it safe to go with the conservative route and just monitor it? I am worried about them taking additional cervix samples and the risks associated with pregnancy and financially another surgery right now would be very hard on me but worth the debt if that is what I need to do.

If anyone can help answer my concerns I would greatly appreciate it. And my prayers are with those that are going through this as well!

 Thanks

Carefully look over all of your lab reports, first, so that you'll know what has been happening, all along. In addition, insist on getting an HPV DNA test. You'll know what you're addressing. It will help you make a decision about how to protect your health. I'm glad your doctor consulted with another doctor and has offered you options. But knowing which HPV strain(s) you have will give you a better picture.

Roche has AMPLICOR. Something to bear in mind is that because it's new, you may have to pay for it yourself. Or the insurance company won't let your doctor have access to it. Or the doctor can't offer it to you unless you know about it and ask for it. Or you may have to go to a teaching hospital. But I had that done, and it was definitely worth it. I immediately set up a strategy that was best for my health.
