PLEASE READ - Get a 2nd opinion at IU

Hello all, I just wanted to make sure that everyone on this forum gets the following information that we have learned. PLEASE get a second opinion from a testicular cancer specialist if you can.  Dr. Einhorn at Indiana University invented the chemo regimine that has made this cancer so curable.  He also has 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lines of treatment and/or surgery in most cases if the 1st doesn't work.  Its always good to have an expert telling your local oncologist what to do because this cancer is so rare, and should not be treated like all the others.

I would also like to share this website that my husband has found so helpful: tc-cancer.com  There is a forum on there where my husband has been able to talk to many others like him with widespread disease who have made it through. There is also a place on there for caregivers to talk about there experiences.  There is a ton of info on testicular cancer as well.

So please check this stuff out, it has helped us tremendously and we are so happy that we found Dr. E (Our local oncologist recommended him after we said that we were going to get a second opinion)  Most people don't think to ask for an expert, and the only way we did is because our brother in law has pancreatic cancer and finally figured outthat he needed to be going to MD Anderson - and he isdoing great after 7 years!

Never give up, never lose hope, Livestrong!

AMEN!  Dr. Einhorn treated my testicular cancer 9 years ago next week and I'm alive and doing well!
