What stage of VIN were you diagnosed with? I was diagnosed with VIN3 at the beginning of July.. I'm like you in the fact that it started out as one spot that I noticed at the end of May. By the time I saw my doctor 2 weeks later it was 4. She biopsied 4 and then sent me to the oncologist. Now he is going to laser 7 spots. I understand your frustration of the increased number of spots and spreading. I wanted to find alternative methods for this and steer far from any form of surgery but I wasn't really left with much of a choice. I was told that the longer I wait to have these spots taken care of the more I am ultimately going to get. He said that the rate of them becoming an invasive cancer was very slow, but they are spreading rapidly. He suggested having laser surgery. I called and spoke with one of the best doctor's in this field, Dr. Robert Coleman at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas and he agreed with what my doctor has suggested. Although he hasn't seen me personally, he agrees with how quickly it's spreading that laser would be the best form of treatment. I was reassured that it was going to be the best choice all around, including a cosmetic appeal.
I'm sure this isn't anything that you are really looking forward to hearing, and I can't speak for your specific case - I just wanted to let you know that I also had that mind set and what I've been told.
I wish you the best of luck! Keep us updated on how things are turning out for you!
