Thanks

Apricot kernels, amygdalin, vitamin B17, laetrile... you have to do some research and decide for yourself, google a lot and be critical of what you read, but I just wanted to tell you what I found out when I did the same:

Amygdalin = B17 is not a vitamin, it is a poison. It was given the name of a vitamin so it would seem more legitimate.

Laetrile is a substance which is supposed to be a non-toxic format of amygdalin. Sometimes amygdalin, made from crushed apricot kernels, is sold as laetrile (Mexican laetrile I understand). You also get amygdalin from bitter almonds.

Studies have found amygdalin to be ineffective against cancer. There has been no controlled clinical trials. You will find statements that say that this result is a conspiracy by medical companies who don't want people to have an inexpensive medicine against cancer. I don't believe in this theory. Cancer cells have been killed in lab environment because amygdalin releases cyanide, which is a poison.

Cytostats are also, of course, poison. But when raw apricot kernels, amygdalin, or laetrile are taken orally, it is very difficult to say how much toxicity you are getting in your body, the dose can be lethal, or at least cyanide poisoning. Eating 20 apricot kernels at a time can be lethal according to some reports. I would not dare to try.

BUT PLEASE NOTE: These apricot kernels are raw and they should not be confused with the health store snack variety of apricot kernels which look much like regular almonds. HOWEVER, there were reports of cyanide poisonings also from some bitter apricot kernel snacks bought from health food stores in the 1990's. Then again, I also found an article that claimed that usually the snack variety of apricot kernels is not toxic. To be on the safe side, I don't eat any kind of apricot kernels and don't keep them in the house so that kids won't eat them.

A good page explaining the same: http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=21859

My husband has cancer. This is our humble opinion after some research, you will find other opinions I am sure.

All the best, Mousey

There are so many foods are available which contains B17 vitamins i.e. sprouts of alfalfa, beans like fava, kidney, mung, bitter almond cashew nuts, fruits like blackberry, boysenberry, choke berry, gooseberry, seeds like apple seeds, flax seeds, millet, peach, cherry seed, pears seeds etc leaves like spinach, alfalfa, beet tops, tubers like cassava, sweet potato etc. which we can use in our regular diet to get B17 vitamins. So there is no absolute need to go for Apricot Kernels, seeds for vitamin B17. If someone is really cured by using B17 vitamins, please share there experience. Please share genuine stories and not put fake stories because matter is related with life of someone.

I have been doing IV vitamin c and laetrile since May of this year. They are part of an overall treatment protocol that I am working on under the direction of my naturopath. Laetrile is absolutely safe and non-toxic to normal, healthy cells. And it doesn't linger in the body long after consumption so there is no toxic residue left behind. Whether it will help me or not is yet to be seen. I believe that it is and will help me in the long run. I know people personally who have been cured of cancer using a similar protocol as me. We all have to make our own decisions about what we feel is the best path to take. There is no guarantee. There is also no guarantee with chemo. And, with the statistics of success with chemo as low as they are, and the treatments as toxic as they are, for me this alternative is the way to go.

Hi,

I'm fortunate in that I don't have cancer, but I use apricot kernel seeds as a preventative measure. I regularly eat at least 20 per day with no ill-effects, crushing them and sprinkling them onto fruit salads, as I understand that it is necessary to consume them with the enzymes in fresh, raw produce for them to be effective. My husband and children all eat them too, with nobody having experienced any side-effects.

Apricot kernels (B17) will not work for pancreatic cancer. It is not a strong enough treatment. It is considered a stage III treatment according to cancertutor. However, it will help with the iflammation and swelling and help buy time for your cancer treatment to work.  My mother has been on lifeone ( a stage IV treatment)  and deAromatase (a treatment for endocrine damage caused by chemo) for one month and is doing good.
