Pregnancy?

Hi all,

I know I can’t be the only one, so anyone who has been or is going through this experience, please share with me.

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in March & was scheduled to have a trachelectomy in June. 2 weeks before the surgery I went in for a MRI & a second huge benign tumor was found. So everything was going to be removed come surgery time. Then 5 days before my surgery, I found out I was pregnant! What a blessing! Needless to say my surgery was cancelled. I will be monitored closely & if my cancer starts to spread, I will give given 3 treatments of mild chemotherapy at about 24 weeks. At 32 weeks the baby will get steroids to develop the lungs & the a caesarean. The specialist then wants to do a hysterectomy. Is this normal as I would still very much like a trachelectomy?

Definately ask your doctor why he wants to do a hysterectomy now, instead of a trachelectomy...
