Surgery re adrenal gland

I had a left nefrectomy in 2003. Had lots of follow up scans etc and then in 2008 was advised I had lung mets and 'hot spots' on both adrenal glands. A right Lobectomy followed, which was a disaster, two lobes instead of one, artery cut (had to have 6 units of blood), rib broken. Then get this, on results day, no cancer of any sort in lung! Dragged myself back to full fitness and then three months later nodule in right adrenal gland has grown massively. Adrenalectomy followed last year. Then in May this year adivsed nodule in left adrenal slight change and a small nodule in lower left lobe had appeared. The Multidisciplinary Team Meeting decided that both should be removed (a slice from lobe and removal of adrenal gland, leaving me steriod dependent). Now I have hit a huge snag in that the endocrine surgeon won't agree. Says I should have lobe done first and then if that is cancer, "it is not worth removing the adrenal gland". This is the sad tale of the nhs in the United Kingdom. I am in total despair and just feel like giving up. Any advice would be much appreciated.
