When we spoke to the Cancer Treatments Center of America we also found that what kind of insurance you have seems more important to them that what kind of cancer you were diagnosed with.  Most of the conversation concerned insurance, not treatment.  Our private insurance was obviously "not up to par" as they had no further contact with us.

Dazie, I live in Australia I have Advanced prostrate cancer,I can feel what your going though because O boy, I have  been down this road, and I had MBF medical insurance, but when I tyred to get treated back in 2007 my insurance would only pay for half of the robot surgery that I wanted to have done. I didn't have the rest of the money to pay for the other half. But  with some treatments that I looked at  like high-intensity focussed ultrasound (HIFU) and Becky therapy, MBF would not pay for them at all. At the time because I did not have the money as with being so  Ill I couldn't work  I ended up maxing  out my mortgage. I'm just lucky in 2007 that I found a Naturopath who  Naturopathic Medicine to treat cancer I found out all it took was a change of diet  to a cancer fighting diet  and high dos vitamin supplements since then my PSA coming down and I feel better. back in 2007 I never had felt such despair like it

Dazie,

So sorry for what is happening to you.  I have insurance & I'm still overwhelmed with what they are NOT going to pay!  I am very grateful for my job (& we have insurance through my job) however, I'm so angry about all the loopholes in coverage...No one should have to battle life threatening conditions & the healthcare/insurance  industry.

Blessings to you.

howdy Kimberly....thank you so much for the reply...isnt it sad that we have to fight for what is "needed"!?!?!?!?  Washington members have great coverage, state, county, city and town ppl have coverage and the private person has to beg and lie to get what we have a right to....so sad....and fyi, i was wrong about me facing my fourth, its my fifth cancer...my last one was double breast removal so i was put on the BCC Program and within 4 hours i was put on Medicaid..i do not know what i would have done if i had not been put on the program..no private insurance would cover me because of pre issues...sounds like you have the heart of a true warrior!!!  fight on!!!!   thank you again for your reply and i wish for you only the best life has to offer!! (and if its not giving you the best, fight for it!!)...take care......hugs and more hugs!!!   Dazie..fellow warrior!

Hi
Dazie,

I
went through treatments for Hodgkin’s Disease, and then my father went through
treatments for colon cancer, and navigating insurance, co-pays and coverage was
awful for all of us. I did a recent post on managing the costs of treatments
that may be helpful for you – http://blog.cincovidas.com/managing-the-costs-of-treatment.
Please let me know how everything works out for you.

Love,
strength and survival, Britta

howdy Britta....thank you so much for the info...it is so heart breaking to realize that so so many ppl cant get the care they need and all the red tape is overwhelming..i never had any treatments for any of my "fellers"...figured if the cancer got there, it would find a way to leave..pretty stupid idea at the time but i had worked in a volnteer setting and saw what "treatments" did to ppl.....i have always eaten healthy and took physical care of myself, but i was told "its in your genes...maybe i could get new ones?!?!?!?...we have come a long way since my first bout, and thru the other bouts, and now i find myself in a most "touchy" situation and thank god for Medicaid..but for others, my heart breaks for them and their family....again, thanks so much for your reply and the info on the site...hugs, love and "forward on"....Dazie in NM
