Yes, but if you try to talk about them they'll not let them go thru. They (whoever they are) consider them inappropriate and will erase it. I am a

living example that alternatives work. I have had three types of cancer and

have not ever taken a pill or chemo or radiation, only natural alternatives.

Do research on the internet under alternative treatments for cancer and go

to the very last listing and read all that comes up. That is if they leave this message on for you to see.  My tumor marker is down to 40 and some other test (something I'd never heard of before was only 11- the nurse says it's all good) I was 65 on my tumor marker a year ago in March, then in Jan. I was 47, 41 this March and now 40. I am trying to eat sugar free, and off red meat, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables, garlic, no chips, etc. I am taking glyconutrients. I would be willing to talk to you personally if I could.

Good Luck

Hi MaggieJo ........I have found the moderators on this board very open to posts discussing and offering information about particular alternative protocols. That was not so much the case when I first began posting several years ago but now, other than removing personal identifying information such as an e mail address or a link to an obvious commercial site selling a product, they have become much more liberal with what they allow. If I am correct, this site is sponsored by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America which offers alternative and integrative treatments along with traditional and so there should be no conflict of interest........... I'm sure there are other members who would be very interested in learning what you have done to defeat this disease three times and would really appreciate your informing us as to what you credit your success to. I too have used only alternative protocols and am always interested in learning what has worked for others.......Who knows....down the road I may need to change some of what I am now taking or add in new things. Thanks so much..........and continued good health! Sheila. _______________________________________________________________

Hi Dazie,

Alternative treatments are definitely great holistic therapies to promote healing. As a cancer survivor and caregiver to my father who battled colon cancer I wanted to find natural ways to deal with the side-effects of chemo treatment and radiation on the hair, skin and nails. On my blog, blog.cincovidas.com, a resource for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers, I have a few resources that may help answer your questions about alternative therapies. I did posts on…

1.      Reiki http://blog.cincovidas.com/reiki-universal-energy-helps-ease

2.      Acupuncture http://blog.cincovidas.com/ahhh-acupuncture-relieves-many-ch

3.      Pilates designed for cancer patients http://blog.cincovidas.com/starr-power-pilates-program-helps

4.      Yoga http://blog.cincovidas.com/yoga-restoring-minds-and-bodies-d

5.      Massage http://blog.cincovidas.com/massage-during-treatment-and-beyo

6.      Spa Therapy http://blog.cincovidas.com/can-a-trip-to-the-spa-help-build-

I hope that these help. Please let me know if you decide to try any of the above and how they work out for you.

Love, strength and survival,

Britta

I'm a brand new member.  Post Br Ca.Grade 1,  3 years out.  A/C x3, radiationx36, Herceptinx52

I used to use the Amas test to look for a positive or neg test.  Used it for 3 years. Had to go to next door to Massachewsetts since NY didn't allow the tests.  However, after 2 years of neg.results had a "questionable" result.  Had it redone and it was neg.  Mammos hurt so refused that but had an MRI and there it was like a light bulb. Had to have a mammo to confirm it. and a few more since too. So I have not had another Amas test. That's my experience.  Now I use thermography. My GP and Onco don't like them, but too bad. I've had enough radiation for my 80 years and I've more life to live.
