problems after esophagectomy surgery

Hi i had esophagectomy surgery on may 25 2009. i have been haven problems eating and it keeps closing up. i have had eight stecthes and its seem not to hold opening and its has been giving me pain. i get nervous to call the doctors about the problem. Has anyone had a stents place in and if so does it work. i am starting to give up on gettin this right.

I can not comment on the stent as I have never had one put in or have I yet to have a dilation, and I am almost 1 year post op. But don't be nervous to ask your doctors questions, that is what they are there for to help you. I am sure others can answer your question. Please let us know your outcome, but please never give up it truly does get better.

I had about five dilations after surgery.  My surgery was 1/18 and my last dilation was 11/08.  I used to think it was not helping as the dilations would only last a few weeks.  My last dilation it seemed as though things just clicked and suddenly it was better.  Definitely talk to your doctor....sometimes these things just take time.  Good luck.  I hope you are better soon.
