From Anna,

Hi all, First thanks for all your responses to my post on Dad's Pneumonia.  He got some new info today from his cancer doctors nurse.  He may not have Pneumonia but he may have had a reaction from getting the Red Blood Transfusion on Friday.  We don't know yet.  The cancer doctors nurse told Dad the transfusion can cause some rare side effects. It can cause fluid in the lungs which he has.  It can also cause heart problems (which the Dr. he say Sunday was concerned about).  He has had breathing problems though for a long time.  We figure its cancer related cause they checked things out a long time ago and couldn't find anything then to explain his breathing situation and I've read here that a few others get out of breath easy.  Back to my topic.  The transfusion can also cause kidney problems and it can cause an overload if Red Blood Cells in the body.  Like I said we don't know yet which it is.  He has an appointment in a bit with a new GP.  We were surprised he got the appointment with the GP so fast.  The nurse that was at the walk in clinic made the appointment.  He cancer Dr. wants to see him tomorrow.   This was decided today after he talked to the cancer doctors nurse.  Almost forgot the Dr. at the walk in clinic also put him on a water pill.

Your friend,

 Anna

From Anna,

Hi Mary Ann, I posted that so everyone could have the info on what some transfusions can do. Dad has had many over the years.  He's at his cancer Dr. now so I'm going to wait and post what both doctors about which he has either pneumonia or from the transfusion.

Your friend,

Anna
