My mom, who is 82, was diagnosed with BAC lung cancer in Sept. 08. She has been on Tarceva since Oct 08 and had radiation. She had the usual side effect of not wanting to eat cause nothing tasted good, feeling weak some days, and being tired. After 7 biopsies of the lung several months ago, no malignant cells were seen. After having a bad fall and other medication problems, she was taken off Tarceva because of weight loss and other medical problems. After being off several days, she is feeling wonderful. Now she had decided not to take the Tarceva. She said she would rather feel good. Has anyone been off the Tarceva after taking it for a while and how long did it take before the cancer started progressing again.
Guess i just want to hear what others have dealt with. At 82, and many medical problems, I guess it is her right to decide. I just want her to feel good. No quality of life feeling like crap all of the time.
