post opt questions and comments

I am a 65 yr old woman who is 2 weeks post opt from an open partial nephrectomy...I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat really, has anyone found this to be a normal occurance after kidney surgery>

My surgery went well until two days later I had a bleed and then was on watch to see if I had to go back to the OR, but thank God, the bleed stopped on its own , but not until it was hard to find me on the white sheets I was so pale, but a few units of blood later has brought me up to a good count again, altho my body still has to work at it and Iam on pills to help as well.

My pain is not bad enough now to warrant any pain meds, altho it is still quite tender and touchy and does ache and hurt now and again, but nothing that would warrant any meds.

I am just wondering if anyone else has found that they just don't feel like eating and even when they do, the amount is miniscule.  God Bless you all, and I am glad I found these posts.

I had an open full nephectomy at the end of January. I could not eat very much for 4 days but once I had been able to empty my bowels my appetite suddenly returned and have eaten normally ever since. I think you need to speak to your doctor.

My main problem was feeling tired all of the time for the first couple of weeks. The pain after leaving hospital was not to bad I only occasionally had paracetamols. I still get pain occasionally but not sufficient to require painkillers.

My scar is 7" long and the area below the scar still feels strange now the nerve ends have been cut.
