I have done much research myself, on cancer and nutrition and supplements. I am an ovarian cancer survivor (diagnosed May 2001), and I truly believe all my knowledge and practice has helped me. I have also had chemotherapy, and actually have just begun more chemotherapy for a recurrence. However, I have stayed away from chemo for THREE years, which is outstanding for Stage IIIc. When this chemo is finished, I plan to heavily detox and rebuild, which I did some of after my first treatments, but not on quite the scale I should have. I have since then, learned much more, and had alternative therapies in between.
You want the chemo to do it's job if you commit to it, but there are several supplements and GREEN DRINKS are one of them, and all my docors are in agreement on, during chemotherapy. I have a medical oncologist, a gynecologic oncologist, a D.O. practiciing European Biologic Medicine, and Internist (M.D.), and have met with a nutitionist. I have also taken IP-6, E, Beta-Carotene, C, B Complex, CoQ10, and more during my last chemotherapy and after. I also eat a greens based, high alkaline diet, and drink 8-10 glasses of pure water a day.
Get the Book: "BEATING CANCER WITH NUTRITION", by Patrick Quillan, available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and I'm sure on Amazon. He is one of the most highly respected nutritionists in the world. It will really educate you, and maybe even your doctor.
A good doctor will admit that they can't be an expert at everything, and it takes a team. A good doctor is open minded, and will acknowledge the countless studies linking lower cancer incidence, and improved survial and cure with certain nutrition programs for certain cancers. Doctor get only get 4 weeks of nutrition in medical school, and those that are very knoweledgable have usually taken it upon themselves to round out their information, and become holistic minded. Thankfully, I have found three doctors like that. I have learned that each cancer is really a separate disease, and that there are differents supplements and diets that have shown particular effectiveness with certain cancers. That's why you HAVE TO TAKE CONTROL, and learn as much as you can. The book I have mentioned puts information from several sources in one place, so don't think you have to spend hours reading every book in the store. I was drawn to that book, and he is a very highly repsected author and nutritionis in many circles, as I said. Happy reading! I hope something I've said here helps you, and maybe others you come in contact with. Best of Luck and God Bless You.
Also, if you're so inclined, meditate/pray on the concept of claiming you God given good health, and believing your incredible self worth, and saying, "Miracles Happen Every Day. I Accept Divine Healing. And So It Is. And So It Is. And So It IS. Amen." It doesn't matter what religion you may be. This wonderful affirmation/prayer, is non-denominational. I took part of it from "You Can Heal Your Life", by Louise Hay.
God Bless.
