Wise Wisdom Needed!!

I am 29 with 4 daughters. My husband and I have been married a year. At the end of June I had my annual pap smear which came back as HGSIL and HPV positive.

I went in 2 weeks later for a colposcopy. I received the results last week. At 12 o'clock, CIN III. At 6 o'clock, mild chronic cervicitis. Endocervix says benign fragments of endocervical tissue and lower uterine segment endometrium. She said that I should have the LEEP procedure.

Here is where I stand, I have been doing much research online. My husband and I both feel that we don't need anymore children (we have our hands full now). I don't want to have to go through this whole process 2 or 3 times. Would having a hysterectomy instead of the LEEP be wise? I go for a second opinion on Friday. Anyone who has suggestions or advice I would greatly appreciate it!!

A little background..over 12 years ago, I had part of my cervix frozen. I don't recall what was going on and why I had it done. I seem to recall HPV but am not sure.

Also, when I had the pap smear and hpv test, it detected 13 high risk types. (16/18/31/33/35/39/45/51/52/56/58/59/68)

I would recommend getting the LEEP before jumping into a hysterectomy.  The LEEP procedure is scary, but it is a fast recovery.  It's like a bad period, with cramping, but take a couple of painkillers & you can be back to work the very next day.  I was terrified before I had my LEEP, and I asked my doctor to prescribe me a sedative so I could sleep the night before the procedure.  The whole thing takes less than 30 minutes.

as a proffessional I agree, get the LEEP first.
