Efudex

I had laser surgery on 3/23/09 for Stage 0 Vaginal Cancer/VAIN III.  I had my first post-op pap smear on 6/24/09.  The results indicated mild dysplasia.  As a result of the abnormal pap, I had another colposcopy today.  My oncologist observed several abnormal lesions, (to his surprise) thus prescribing Efudex once a week for 3 months.  I would appreciate any helpful comments or what to expect from those who have experienced using Efudex.  I would be most grateful for your input asap as I start my first treatment on Monday.

I would be interested in hearing other people's experience with the Efudex treatment too.  I have VAIN I and the doctor removed 2 vaginal lesions in July 09.  The biopsy's from the surgery indicated I still had vaginal dysplasia (VAIN I) near the urethra in the vagina.  My doctor prescribed Efudex.  I've read a lot about Efudex on the internet and was extremely nervous to start the treatment.  I started my first treatment on Saturday night with no problems whatsoever.  I made sure to liberally apply zinc oxide to the vulva. I've read that some women have had some pretty bad experiences with Efudex and other's have had few problems.  It would help to know when the problems began.  I am supposed to use this cream once a week for the next 12 weeks.
