i was diagnosed with kidney cancer seven years ago underwent opperation to remove right hand kidney no treatment for five years except scans to keep an eye on me ,last scan showed the cancer had returned  to the liver 100mm big the lungs 20mm big and two on the adreanal gland 40mm big each.. my oncologist  put me on sutant, and for the last two years the tumours have decreased in size,my last scan shows that no tumours in lungs ,none on the adreanal gland and the liver has just 15mm ,,the only side effects are slight hand and foot syndrome  and a slight sore tongue, this is truly a wonder drug ..i just wonder how long i can keep going as this is the 20th course of tablets of four weeks on and two weeks off,all the best to all cancer sufferers.

Hi Michael,

That's great! I found the link above that tells more about Sutent for you or anyone else who would like to take a look at it. It sounds like you're doing really well with this and I hope it continues. It's good information for anyone with cancer to know, and will probably be a good tool for some others to check into as well.

Are you having any really difficult side effects from it? That would be helpful to know too.

How are you feeling now?

Thank you for your message, Michael!  My husband was on Torisel for 8 months until it quit working, and now he's on his 4th course of Sutent.  The CT scans last week showed everything has either shrunk or stayed the same.  You're right about this being a wonder drug.  Your message was very uplifting to Dave.  I read it aloud to him, and to know that someone else is still going strong after 2 years on Sutent was very encouraging to him.  Thank you, and best wishes!

Nancy
