leg and feet cramps

I have written about my son Steve's leg and feet cramps and a couple of you advised him to use a bar of soap in his bed at his feet at night.  He is doing this and it does seem to be helping some. He got Ivory soap and I was wondering if this is too mild.  He had an ultra sound done last week to rule out blood clots  and this was clear. Also he is having night sweats and getting up 2-3 times each night to change his clothes and the sheets. His pillow becomes soaked and he keeps two extra pillows by the bed to go to when the others get so wet. Does anyone have a remedy for  night sweats.  I think you all are so great and have so much good information.

He is very weak this week  and has had to take a couple of days off work and spent most of the weekend in the bed.

Thanks for the support you give me,

      Supportive Mom, Irene

Hi Irene......I suffered greatly with cramps until I realized they were caused by an electrolyte imbalance in my system. Athletes often suffer this problem after profuse sweating since sweating tends to deplete many of the important minerals in our bodies, especially calcium, potassium and sodium. In my case taking extra magnesium helped quite a bit but I get almost instant relief when I use an electrolyte replacement product. Any good health food store should be able to advise you on this. Here are a couple of informative links that I hope will be helpful....http://www.betterbodz.com/library/muscle_cramps.html ............... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1751464/what_causes ................. Please pass along my good wishes to Steve.
