My wife had a right radical nephrectomy in Jan., '05, lesions in lungs & liver showed up 3 yrs. later, initially thought to be clear cell but now determined to be chromophobe, went on Sutent for @ 1 year, then progression, now in clinical trial of Pazopanib, which is now in 4th cycle, dosage reduced by 1/2 after 1st, & CT showed some shrinkage after 2d, w/ new CT scheduled for end of August.  I am interested in anyone's experience w/ Pazopanib.  Thanks!

My husband has been on Pazopanib for over 3yrs. now.  He started the clinical trial in June of 2006.  He is on the phase II of the clinical trial through Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX.  This drug has shrunk his chest and abdominal nodules.  He was diagonised with RCC in 2003.  Had his right kidney removed and went 2 years without a reacurrance.  The cancer came back in 2005 stage 4.  Pazopanib has given us hope.  This drug is used to slow the progression of RCC.  There are side effects, but he is able to handle them.  Some of the side effects are: hair and skin turn white, mouth sores, hand and feet syndrome, diarrhea (the most side effect), nausea and fatigue.

We went to Philidelpha to GSK for a seminar on RCC in June.  They are hoping for approval from FDA in near future as it is better than Sutan as far as the side effects.

Good luck to you and May God bless you.

Sharon

I was diagnosed with rcc in July and started on the Pazopanib trial in late Sept. I have so far experienced nausea, Diarrhea, muscle aches, weakness, and a rash. However I havent been on it long enough to find out how well it is helping. I do however have faith in God to get me through this.
