Hi everyone !!
I had been into remission for 21 years (ovarian cancer) and 21 years to the month it has decided to return. I just had tumor reduction surgery last week and my doctor said he wanted to try me on HEXALEN an oral form of chemo.
He said the side effects if any are FLU like. But his nurse said they can be worse then that almost the same as regular IV Chemo. Nausua, mouth sores and more. I was curious if anyone has any comments to share about this treatment.
Also she said it is very expensive. I just went on Wednesday and she has to get my insurance approval and the co-pay cost. She said the co-pay could be as much as $200 a pill. The treatment is 21 days on 7 days off and so on. So I don't know if I can even afford it,
Thank you for any comments you can share with me on this new venture of my life..
Jackie
