Prognosis

My wife has just been told that she has only a few days or possibly weeks to live after unsuccessfully trying to overcome her battle against Accute Myeloid Leukaemia. She has had the works - 3 chemos, TBI and an allogenic transplant from her brother (perfect match). All appeared to be going in the right direction but then completely out of the blue and after only a couple of months, she relapsed.

Sadly the last course of chemo did not even put a dent into the diseased and she still has 75% blast cells in her bone marrow. The doctors have said that there is no chance and have sent her home.

I am a realist, but was wondering if anyone has heard of any miraculous recoveries after this sort of prognosis or at least of anyone who lasted far longer than was excpected. If so what did they put this down to?

If you could help, I would appreciate your response. Thanks
