5 weeks between chemo treatments......is that too long???

My sister has stage 2C clear cell ovarian cancer.  She is due to have her second chemo treatment of Paclitaxel and carboplatin......but because the Dr is going on vacation....it will be a 5 week span between the first and second treatment.

For such an agressive cancer.....isn't that too long a span?  I was under the impression that chemo should be administered every three weeks for best results.  Am I wrong?

Her Dr. just says... "Oh, you'll be ok".

Thanks for any help you can give,

Karen

Hi
Karen,  I doubt that the cancer would grow too much in the time he will be gone.  At least your sister is getting  treatment.  I can't believe there is no other Dr./med. professional that would do it while he is gone.  I have been off treatment a number of times due to illness/trips, etc. and the markers did not go up.  If you aren't happy with the Dr., perhaps a second opinion would ease your mind.  Let us know how this goes.

Gayle
