I was relooking at my blood work and found this: Abnormal Protein Band 1 with a reading of .1.  Not sure what this means.  I have an appointment with my onc on Tuesday but want to be very prepared.

thx

Still unsure after dr meeting.  He indicated that the abnormal protein band 1 was my m-spike.  That's the first I heard that.

Hello Konner,

I just read your message and it thought I would help.  I have mgus not MM because my m-protein (abnormal protein) is also very low .2 . The doctor should monitor you every six months for the first year and then every year or two if you remain stable. Many people have a small m-spike. I don;t plan on going back to a oncologist for yearly blood work because I am gauging my health on how my blood counts look (cbc) . Everyone does things different regarding follow up visits. But from my experience, if you don't have good insurance like me and you don't have any other symptoms. You will most likely remain stable.  Hope that helps!

Thanks Majolica - yes, no other symptoms and all other blood work is normal EXCEPT for rising FLC.  That is concerning and I believe the reason I get checked every 4 months.  But no CRAB symptoms so I feel pretty good about that.
