My dear eighty-one year old Mother battled with cervical cancer for two years being an only child going up Mt Everest was quite a challenge but I was determine from day one to be at my Mother's side and climb the enormous, steep mountain together with faith in God that He would give us the strength and courage to keep going and fighting the monstrous decease.
My Mother was given chemo for two years and at one point went on remission for six months we were all happy being that besides being on the treatment she was also eating/ drinking healthy organic foods and shakes that were especially designated for this type of cancer. My Mother was energetic after the first six months of treatment, had high spirits and loved to go out...she didn't look like she had cancer . It was towards the latter time she took a dive she began having an obstruction in her intestinal section she had a hard time moving her bowels not all the time the stool softner or enemas would help her. She got weak and missed three treatments which took advantage and the tumors multiplied at a fast speed taking over her spleen, liver, stomach.
As the days pass on seeing the inevitable approaching I was preparing my mind and praying to God to please not allow Mom to suffer to let her go peacefully. On 8/5 at 8:39 pm as one of my son's was sitting at one side and I on the other side my beloved Mother passed away in peace. I miss my Mother, my best friend terribly but at the same time I find comfort that she was with me for many years which makes me feel lucky and grateful as there are many persons who have lost their Mom's at an early age. I am also at peace that I was with my Mother at her side all along and did everything I could to help and comfort her through her terminal illness
To all the ladies out there please go for your check up and if you feel any discomfort whatsoever please don't put it aside pick up the phone and set an appointment ASAP with your gynocologist after the appointment treat yourself to a manicure or a cup of coffee. Don't do what my Mom did she went for her check up four years ago and was told that she had a cyst and needed to remove it she kept it to herself and three years thereafter began to have symptoms of pain and spotting. She went back to her gynocologist ran a few tests and cancer sadly was found in her abdomen. Remember Cancer has no pity on anyone it doesn't care the person's race, age, religion or income it will attack fiercely to destroy. However if the person gets check and is caught in its early stages the survival rate is tremendous...so ladies don't delay any longer take care of yourselves.
God Bless
