Hi all, my name is William and my father is currently suffering from stage for colon cancer. I really need some advice here for the doctors seemed to have used all the methods. I ain't good in typing out lengthy text, so I will keep it in bullet form.
Patient height and weight: 173 cm and 45 kg
Cancer Type: Colon
Stage: 4 (Dukes-D)
Cell Type: Signet Ring
Area: Wall of colon, small intestine, pelvis and urinary bladder
Surgery: Yes (Part of colon removed when cancer is discovered
and is already stage 4 at that time)
Treatment Undergone: 1) Oxaliplatin + 5FU/FA
2) Irinotecan + Erbitux + Xeloda
3) Oxaliplatin + Erbitux + Xeloda
4) Oxaliplatin + Erbitux + Xeloda +
Avastin
Response to treatment: 3) Effect is slow and minimal
4) Huge effect, but cancer marker
shoots up significantly when not
applied (No cell shrinkage)
Cancer Markers: Only CEA 125 shows up, rest are all normal
Scans: Nothing on Pet, shows up on CT
Radiology: Not advised to do
Gene: K-ras not mutated, B-raf is unknown (test unavailable)
Patient condition: Colon obstructed, Colonoscopy bag present
(Bag that holds human waste), no appetite,
yellowy-brown mucus coming out from ass
(smells like plastic + rotten vegetables)
small intestine obstructs occasionally (partial
to complete obstruction), IV solution only,
pukes whenever water or food is taken,
throw-up all the time (transparent mucus to
green colour bile juice), pissing problems -
very slowly, always feel dizzy and that air is
filled within the stomach pushing up against
the diaphragm.
Life expectancy: 1.5 months before small intestine become fully
obstructed and die
Recent action: Sent living cells to rationaltherapeutics for
analysis. Drugs suggestions are:
1) Oxaliplatin + Gemcitabine + Xeloda
2) Alimta
3) Mytomycin-C + Gemcitabine
Right...... basiclly both my doctors in Hong Kong have said that I have to be prepared that my dad will die anytime. They have tried everything they could. The oncologist said that he would be willing to try the combination suggested by rationaltherapeutics. But the problem is that as far as I know that combination has not been used to cure colon cancer. Can anyone provide me with any related information, please??? Apart from the RT drug suggestion, what else can be done?? My mum and I are so frustrated... My Masters degree starts soon too and my dad is doomed................ Please help!!! Many Thanks!!!

Did you try Chinese Medicine? Dr. Chan Ping Chung and Ng Kam in HK are specialist in this area.

Yes we did try already......... Chinese medicine only works for some patients to be honest...... Not all..... Didn't work on my dad. Also, chinese medicine can only making a patient's blood circulation better and a bit more lively, but cannot suppress cancer. I am not expecting much now for there is blood coming out from his anus already and as I have mentioned, he can neither drink a sip nor eat at all. Chinese medicine is not an option. Thanks for your suggestion anyways.
