Small Cell Cancer

My brother was told he had prostate cance 2-3 yrs ago,they said they seen a spot on his liver. Told him we are not sure if we got it all. A year ago he was told her had liver cancer,moved to his lungs and limpnodes. With in a year to the day he died 8/26/09. He was told it was small cell cancer and that theres not really enough research to date about this cancer. WHY?????
