graulosal cell tumor

I have recently had my ovaries removed( had hysterectomy 26years ago)

Due to a granulosa tumor on my left ovary and although i have had this my gynacologist doesnt seem to know much about this tumor other than me having checkups every three months can someone advise me please

My advice to you is to immediately get to an oncologist.  Preferably a gyn/onc who is experienced in dealing with GCT.  I would not trust my care to someone who "does not know much about this tumor".  That being said, there is some excellent information on the ovarian cancer website (ovca.net).  There are threads dedicated to GCT and some excellent information.  I wish you the best.  Please keep us posted about your progress.  We who have this rare cancer tend to learn more from each other than from anywhere else.

thankyou have had letter today saying that my case is going to be revieved by the main cancer hospital in my area in the next two weeks but will contact my gp and ask for a oncoligist referal many thanks again

I currently am undergoing chemo for Stage IV Ovarian Cancer, which I have been dealing with since August '07.  It hasn't been easy, however, I know that I will get through this.

 If I were you, I would find a OB/GYN/ONCOLOSIT (worth traveling if necessary)...as it may save your life.  Be sure they do a complete exam, followed by labs and a CA125 (tumor marker).  Letting things go or being passive about them is dangerous...Early detection is key!  Good luck to you and God bless!

thankyou for your reply having read replys etc I have been to my gp who is excellent and she has contacted  the hospital and I am now having regular check ups and screening and she is closley monitering me
