hi , my mother is 53 yrs old ....she has been diagnosed with cancer of stage 3b. it was in her ovaries and had gone to the omentum. she went through the surgery who removed the uterus , the ovaries , the masses along the ovaries , and partial omentum .Befoe the surgery the gynae had informed about the possibility of cancer , but it was just a possiblity as both ca125 and cea tests were negative. after meeting the oncologst , we're suggested by them that one more surgery has to be done ,to remove the full omentum ,lymph nodes followed by 6 chemo's . Meanwhile , there's cancerhistory in our family and chemo's has proved to be fatal .on the other hand , their is Ayurveda treatments which claim to cure the same without surgery or chemo's. we need urgent direction , and precautions , and guidane for the same ..
thank you
Hi friend,
You may feel comfortable getting another opinion, but do not delay immediate treatment. Ovarian cancer spreads very, very quickly. You should be seeing a gynecological oncologist, preferably at a teaching hospital. Chemo is rough. Advise your doctor and chemo nurses of your family history and fears and ask how the chemo will be administered and what will they do if your mother has a problem?
I am age 67, in remission following surgery and chemo, taking part in an Avastin trial. Will be nearly 18 months of treatment since diagnosis, but I am back to work and finding new paths to explore every day.
Best wishes and peace to you and your family,
Annes
