Rising PSA scores post open

Greetings,

I'm a 5, 15 months post open radical. My PSA scores have been up and down, first test at day 90 was undetectable, 6 month .11, 9 month undetectable and 1 year was.12. As you might guess I"m a little nervous about this next test at 15 months, my doctor claims it could be a red flag.

My presurgery PSA level was 3.6, my post surgery path report had all negitive margins but my gleason score was 7 per my path report. I am nervous and concerned, how nervous should I be of recocurrance?

Hi Joe F it not all doom and gloom, if you take a few precautions that is, I found my prostate cancer can be controlled by diet. In 2007 I also had prostrate cancer bone Mets in my ribs and my lower back I seen a naturopath she told me to go onto liquid cellular Zeolitte 15 drops 4 times a day for four months 12 month later an other bone scan found I had no prostrate bone cancer. But we could see where it had been. My naturopath told me to also, stop having any Sugary foods and drink, she told me much later I should go on a low carbohydrate diet. You see  Prostate cancer loves sugar, it turns it in to glucose, that it feeds on, Prostate cancer will even turn white bread into sugar, and when it really gets going it will turns muscle protein into glucose,  This cause the muscle wasting  we see in the last stage of cancer. The rest of what she told me was to go on to antioxidants the best one of these is vitamin C so in 2007 I was taking  at least 6g of vitamin C a day. This helps with free radicals I now take 10g of vitamin C a day. When I did what she told me to do, I found it really helped me. I some times wish I never went near the biopsy as I had a PSA  of between 2.4 and 3.4 for fifteen years one day it went up to 4.2 so my doctor said I should see about having  a biopsy I did. My Gleason score was  8 after this my PSA doubled to 8 in 6 months I tried to get my prostate out but by the time I ran around flying from state to state seeing uros I ran out of money. I glad I didn’t have and RP now I now know it would not have mated if I did or I didn’t what cause my prostrate cancer was the high amounts of sugar and carbs I was on If I had treatment I still would have been on this awfully danger’s fast food diet and not knowing this, my PSA would have just gone up any way. I’m on holistic alterative treatment now My PSA come down from 13.8 to 8.2 and it still dropping. Don’t lose hope there are many thing you can do to stop you PSA rising my naturopath told me when we have cancer the whole bodies sick not just one or two parts of it. I pray this helps you I feel one you know what cause your cancer your better able to fight it. May God bless you and keep you Ray

Hi again JoeF and please  let us know. how it gos Though your not 5.   but 51, is still a bit young, to have prostrate cancer, I supose I had it at 40,The  psa test had just come in.then. So when I was 43, they told me for sure. as Ivew said  for 15 years  it was OK it was only a psa of between 3.4 and 3.8 it would I be teated evey 6 month or whe I got the time to go in and get it done over the years I found my PSA would some times   come up then it would go back down again. but only by a few points. Its only when I had that awfull biopsy that things got real bad. After I had the biopsy three months later I had the pain in my penis then in my back and my ribs I wish I never went near it. you know what they say If it ant broke dont try and fix it But Im geting better now at least I have no more pain. take care Ray

I don't believe we can control cancer through eatting right or wrong, as I got cancer and I am the most deciplined person on earth, I eat organic, grass fed beef, never eat at fast food restaurants, very little carbs, rye bread, verrry seldom eat anything sweet, etc.  I have two friends who are outdoor rock climbing instructors, they both had prostate cancer, they don't eat anything bad either.

But, the supplement store must love you.

Ohnoo,

Your ignorance on supplements is amazing. I guess all the studies that Johns Hopkins, UCLA that back up that it does make a major difference must be wrong. I am glad for your sake you had prostate cancer that was curable, because of your attitude, if you had advanced prostate you would die from it.  However 30 percent of us that have advanced prostate cancer where there is no cure supplements and diet keep us alive. I am one of the few people that have advanced prostate cancer that doesn't need any traditional treatment because of diet and supplements. The people that I know that have benefited from supplements and the amazing stories would make you look even more narrow minded than you seem. Tell that to Ray, Old Flying Farmer, myself, and many others that have contacted me. If you have nothing positive to say, say nothing.

Dan

I know how much you hate lies ohnoo Im not a lier. Ive seen a few of you post be for. I know you probable wont belive a word I have to say. But Ill say it any way, In my past I have had  five family members who I loved and respcted deeply die, from cancer. All had convenional treatment surgery chemo and radiation, all said Ive beaten this thing, and all died from there cancer a few years later. Then I found  In 2007 I to was dieing from prostate cancer. My doctor and two uros  said with my weight of 300lb and because I have a heart problem, They were out of opions (opions that I could aford that is ) They all giive me only five years. After they told me this, and because I was in so much pain, and because  I hadent sleeped much for a the last few weeks my doctor was  going to put me into hospital, and put me on a drip full of pain meds. In my heart I know if I did this, I never get out of there again I would die in hospital. It was then my wife whos a registed nurse  that found my naturopath on the internet, she realy knew how to treat Cancer. At first I dident belive in naturopaths. But I was  in such a bad state. I would try any thing so I went and seen her, On her advice I was pain free with in a weak or so.and  though my doctors found my cancer My naturopath advice is  the only thing that realy helped me.  Ive been  pain free ever since and Im living my life again, and not makeing preaperation to when I might die. I makeing preaperation on how to live. I hope you find peace ohnoo but you wont find it by attacting felow cancer patients, who have no choce but to go the holistic alternative route.

May God grant you peace

Be well

Ray

Ohnoo,

The bottom line is what works for one person may not work for another. That can be said for accepted therapies as well as for alternative therapies. I know a man who lived life as straight -laced as anyone...never smoked, never drank, ate very healthy, ran a couple times a week and was in excellent shape. And he dropped dead at 45.

When you are sick, you do what the doctor tells you. But doctors' ain't God. So you try to take a few chances on your own. No one should just go out and buy every herbel product that he can find. Instead, many have had real successes with certain things and as long as those things can't hurt you, it certainly doesn't hurt to try. And as to a good diet, the bets are for those who live by the golden rule....keep fit, eat a lot of vegees and limit red meat.
