Serous Boderline tumor plus serous adenocarcinoma

I am 36 years old and just had my rt fallopian tube removed by a gyn onc.  The pathology report reads "serous borderline tumor with maicopapillary foci, highly suspicious for well-differentiated serous adenocarcinoma"

The gyn onc. referred me to a medical oncologist who wants to do 6 treatments 21 days apart of Taxol & CarboPlatium Chemo.

I want to preserve my reproductive abilities as I do not have any children & have been doing fertility treatments prior to this diagnosis.

Is this normal treatment, has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks for any guidance.

I'm much older than you but had same diagnosis except that the CA had spread beyond the tube.  Maintaining fertility was not an issue for me, but I did have the six treatments 21 days apart w/ Carboplatin+Paclitaxel, these were IV and I had a port installed.  I then followed up with a series of intraperitoneal treatments (Cisplatin + Paclitaxel), three treatments over 8 days, three times, with 14 day intervale in between.

I had minimal side effects from the first series (the Carboplatin + Paclitaxel) except that I did lose my hair and I was tired for about two days beginning about the second day after each treatment.  The intraperitoneal treatments were much more rigorous.

Hang in there, you caught it earlier and you are younger.  There is great stuff on the horizon for treating this.
