Hip Bone Socket Pain

I can't find anyone that knows why after 6 weeks of chemo/radiation I have hip bone pain..Starting two weeks after ending treatment. Something went wrong where all my bones, hip socket, a little with wrists became inflamed/painful. I had ibuprofen and vicodin prescribed which helps.  It has been over two weeks and I still cant walk without alot of pain and stiffness. I look like an 80 year old women trying to get up from a sitting/laying position and trying to walk is horrible.

Has anyone experienced this?  Will it go away?  How long. Suggestions?

Thank you..

HI

It sounds like side effects from chemo and radation, You try extra strenght tynenol.. much better then ibrufin also vicadon can cause side effects also.. your should get Diladid as that is a strong cancer pain and much better then any thing on market,, so see your oncologist about switching drugs,  also you could have nuropathy and Lyrica is best for that,,, do you have tingling in hands and legs?  and if you touch any thing cold does it effect you?

Good news is the side effects do leave you but it does take time, thats why you need pain killers to control it,,

Peggy,

I have gotten the hip pain after both of my chemo regimens.  I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it went away on its own after about 8 weeks.  I think it might be pain in the bone marrow as your body replaces platelets, white blood cells, etc. at a faster rate than it would w/o chemo.

Thx Peggy

Thank you Jack, this crap is made even more horrible when one has side effects that no one else has and the doctors did not have/give any answers.  Your explanation makes sense.  I guess I just have to wait it out. I wish I new if there is any thing I can do to help me.  But, I guess I'll just have to settle.

Thx-Peggy :)
