Hello Everyone,

Since Zoe, my 9 year sm lapso/terrier mix has been diagnosed on Sept 10, 2009 with TCC we have go through a lot of changes. It has mostly occured around her diet. We have opted not to have anything invasive and this type of Cancer spreads like crazy. I was told and have read that it is "just like mold spores and will seed". Our days are as follows:

wake up at 4:45 am

Take 10mg prilosec, 10 mg pepcid

1/2 of a Baytril 68 tab

About 50mg of vit C every other day

Eat about 1/2-3/4 cup of boiled chicken mixed with the chicken stock, a med scoop of pumpkin puree' with about a teas. and 1/2 of flax oil. I mix and warm all of that.

Finally her 10mg of piroxicam (which is hard to guess, but I do my best)

She has 1/2 of tramadol when needed for pain. I usually give her this at night before we go to bed. I usually have to hide this in a tiny chunk of butter, because if she tastes it(very bitter) she will give me the look, tail between her legs and walk off in disgust!

I HAVE NOT been able to give her the cottage cheese & flax oil...she turns her nose up at it...any secrets?

We then head out the door for our 2 block walk, which she loves! stops and pees frequently, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Usually has 1 BM.

When we arrive back home, she heads back upstairs to our bed to sleep.

For every day I have her, I am grateful.

I wish everyone luck and best wishes who is going through this horror with their beloved pet. I wish many more good days ahead. We have to take it a day at a time and enjoy the time we have with them.

Have a good day and try to stay positive!

Yes he asked about an ultrasound, but we just do not have the money to do that. And once again, if we were in a different spot financially, I would have her operated on. I really wish I was.

She is actually doing quite well at this time. On and off blood when she pees (which from what I have read is normal for this type of cancer). She is still on a low dose of baytril for infections. Her eating has been great. She runs around and plays. Seems to be in no pain. She sleeps with us EVERY night and usually sleeps through. She sometimes has bouts of diarrhea, usually after a couple of doses of piroxicam. I can help control that by not giving it to her everyday. But, like I said she is doing great and I am thankful. I truly wish I had the money to get her more help, but I am grateful she is doing so well at this time. Thanks for the reply and I'm glad yours is doing well.
