Medical tourism to treat prostate cancer??

In April 2007 a routine PSA result came out over 4. A follow up visit to an urologist showed it was over 6 and smooth. A biopsy followed and I was told I had prostrate cancer Gleason 8. I opted for a robotic prostatectomy, having heard many great things about it. But to be perfectly honest, before I decided on it, I briefly considered getting it done overseas, after having seen a news report on it, how that’s the new hot trend now in this economy. Overseas procedures are cheaper and save money.
I am self-employed and pay for medical privately so of course money was a concern. But my wonderful wife persuaded me to go with reputable doctors right here at home. Thank God she did. We traveled to NY to get it done at Mt Sinai with Dr. Samadi. It was the best decision I ever made. And that decision was further confirmed when I came across this article recently, in which Dr. Samadi was quoted!

It just proved that I made the right decision and I wanted to make sure my fellow prostate cancer sufferers were well advised before they make their decision. Best of luck and health to you all!

Lance  I was going to get the robotic prostatectomy surgery, in 2007. But due to a weight problem. The two  urologist , I seen in deferent states, refuse to do it. Do you have any side affects like erection problems, incontinence, etc. cheers Ray
