Hi. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in Feb 09.  Up until now, I have had numerous complications including: fractures, back surgeries, blood clots, lungs filling with liquid and more.  Three weeks ago I was switched to a new chemo called Taxotere.  In the past nine months of treatment with Cisplatin, Carboplatin, and Tarceva, I have never seen the side effects that I have had with Taxotere.  I have been violently ill, throwing up non-stop for three weeks.  There has only been two days were I was not stuck in the bathroom, but I was still nauseous.  I have been taking, zophran, phenergen, steriods, dramamine patches, acupuncture, seabands, and more.  Nothing seems to help.  I just finished round 2 of this chemo yesterday at a lower dosage upon the doctors recommendation.  I am really scared I am going to be sick for another three weeks, not to mention my hair is falling out at rapid speeds and my skin is drying up like a snake.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hello,

Try to ginger.  Slice about an inch of fresh ginger. Boil with water and drink it.  You can either cook ginger with meal / meat or green tea.  It helped my Mom.

Perhaps you should stop this Chemo and try a different one.  If each time you eat and vomit, you should start ask the doctor to give you an extra TPN IV.  Pls check out this following website for more info on Lung Cancer.

Best wishes,

Victoria
