Metastatic neoplasm discovery

My Mom recently went in to see her surgeon for pain, and they have found some metastatic neoplasms in the liver that were previously not there.  Anybody have any info, stories, advice on this one?  We all feel pretty lost at this point.

jetgirl,

Sorry to hear of your Mom's liver mets.  While my husband hasn't had liver mets, he is Stage IV for bilateral inoperable lung mets.  I do know that many patients have lived for some time with chemo treatments.  No doubt someone else will be along to share their stories.  It certainly isn't usually a death sentence by any means.  I'm sure your Mom's oncologist will be able to find a chemo protocol for her that hopefully will be successful.

Good luck and Godspeed.

Thank You for your thoughts.  She has a strong faith and will get through whatever she has to.  We see the oncologist tomorrow and that will determine what's next.
