Possible cancer??

I would like opinions on what I am currently going through Please!

I have been having pain under my rib cage for months. I have lost 65 pounds in 8 months without trying. The pain radiates to my back and sometimes all the way down to my ovarian area. I have been tired and weak and have been told I have Narcolepsy. I have pain all the time but about once a week I get pain that is horrible. I am talking worse then labor pains. The only thing that takes it away is 7 Pepto bismols.

I had a ultrasound done that showed 2 "masses" on my liver. 1 is a Hemangioma. The other one they are not sure what it is and said I need a CT scan. Also I have Gall Stones. I found this out Yesterday and I have a CT scan in 2 days. I got blood work done also.

I am so scared this is a tumor. What do you guys think of this? My CBC came back normal and I asked the dr if it was cancer if it would show in my blood work and he said "not always". All I know is that I lost a ton of weight and I am in severe pain.

Thank you!!!

An AFP blood test might show if you have liver cancer. A petscan of the abdomen would light up any organs that might .be cancerous. Then if they thought you might have cancer they may order an MRI to see what the tumors look like. This is what I had done. I hope this helps. Good luck.  Steve

I know first hand gallstones can may you think you are dying, and yes, the pain is worse than any labor pains I've ever had.  I was fortunate, they discovered my stones on a Tuesday and I was scheduled for surgery on Thursday AM.  My husband on the other hand lived with pain and stones for months before they realized the cause of the problem. He could only get relief in a warm bath and would stay in the tub for hours.

Please don't let yourself get upset until you know the cause of your pain.  Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon!

Ask for a colonoscopy. I experienced many episodes of that severe pain. I was always told it was probably a kidney stone. After many years, they finally did a colonoscopy and found out I had stage 4 colorectal cancer. A colonoscopy is the only way they can detect it. Especially with the spot on your liver. I am highly suspicios. Get it done right away. It may save your life!

Ask that an endoscopy be done by a gastroenterologist. An endoscopy will allow them to visualize, and biopsy, if necessary, any organ in the gastrointestinal region. It can all be done in one procedure: pictures, direct visuals, and biopsies. They will check out liver, pancreas, bile ducts, liver, gallbladder....good luck, and let us know how you do. I hope all is negative for you.
