my husband, aged 53, was diagnosed with nsclc on 8/14.  huge tumor, alot wrapped around his spinal cord.  he was in the hospital for 1 week, 4 radiation treatments, then went for surgery at Mass. Gen. Hospital in Boston, only place they could try to remove some of the tumor on his spine.  9 hour surgery, went well.  he was then sent back to our local hospitals and has just come home this past wednesday, 9/17.  we have hospice helping us.  his left leg is completely immobilized.  he is very weak, although is eating pretty well now at home.  we are trying to get him stronger to then move on to more radiation therapy.  his doctor told me right now the radiation or chemo would kill him faster than the tumor.  i hope we are not wasting time waiting around.  i asked hemotology onc if tarceva could be used.  he said there would be a possibilty of that once he got stronger.  any thoughts or opinions on this would be appreicated.

 God bless you all!

Hello, I feel everything you do. My wife of 16 years was in the same shape as your spouse. Stay positive and say everything you have wanted to say to him but never did. Stay ahead of the pain with the meds, do everything possible for comfort and most of all, get saved. Mark
