Hello,
The amount of time it took to get the CT was about right, I've had over 10 in the past couple of years. The contrast is put directly into a vein and goes through you very quickly. Please try not to worry about this too much. I know that doesn't sound very comforting, but I remember when I was diagnosed over 2 years ago and my worrying didn't help at all. You don't mention that you had cancer before and primary liver cancer is a fairly rare disease in the United States. It's much more common in Asia and Africa. Do you have any diseases that affect the liver? They can cause that type of cancer but take decades before they do enough damage to do so. Your doctor doesn't want to worry you until he knows for sure what it is that's the matter. Even after the CT results are back they may want to do more tests.
I'm just a person that has primary liver cancer, not a health care professional by any stretch of the imagination. I've dealt with the doctors at University of Florida and they've done a fantastic job in helping me. I'll get an e-mail if you respond to this so if you have questions let me know. My best advice for now is to relax the best you can as hard as that may be.
Take care,
Bob
