My sister is getting a biopsy today in Peoria, Illinois. I was told last night they think she has Lymphoma from CT scan last night. What is the best hospital to treat this? Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,  Sheryl

Luckily I live in the Boston area where there are a number of excellent facilities.  I had treatment for cervical cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and now will be getting treatment for lymphoma at Mass General Hospital.  Try to find a good teaching hospital or a cancer facility.  Don't know how close you might be to Chicago, but there are probably a few options there.

I agreed with the previous post.  Find a teaching hospital, even if it isn't that close to where you live.  My husband had lymphoma of the brain and we drove several hours to a teaching hospital.  After several setbacks, he is alive and doing well.  He is 26 months out with completely clear MRI's

Most treatments do not require in patient stays.  Treatments can be supervised by oncologists from the teaching hospital closer to your home.

Good luck and stay strong.

Thanks for the info. Will do and I tried calling Univ. of Chicago on behalf of my sister today to see if they could follow along until she could be seen there to make sure things are done right till she can be physically evaluated by them. Is there anyway I can request that the person treating my sister also call a doctor there to consult with to review/confirm a game plan. Tonight, I was told she's on a morphine pump. Pain control is important but I want to make sure she can still make important decisions for herself. I am pushing for UofChicago. They have a lymphoma team. In this case I think a second or 3rd opinion is reasonable since we are dealing with someones life here. Tomorrow they plan on taking a biopsy via the colon to get at the one mass in her abd as it's so internal but I didn't know they could go through the bowel? What about infection risk with this route. Have you heard about this? Thanks for your support on behalf of my sister and I.   Sheryl

Hello I have Lymphonma of the stomach.  I would find a good Cancer insitute. I live in Detroit mi And have treatment from Karmanos .I go to Dr. Jeffery Zonder. He specializes and has a team of specialist. Look them up on the computer. I have met people there from all over the states and Canada. It is so important you find a Dr. that is great and that understands you and treats you good.
