21 y.o. & dr. says LEEP is needed

I am 21 years old, no kids, and in college.

I have HPV and had an abnormal pap with colopscopy a year ago. That dr said everything was fine and they were just going to watch it.

I moved for school and now have a new doctor. I went back and had another abnormal pap and colopscopy. I get my results on Friday after having 3 biopsies. My doctor said that more than likely she would suggest a LEEP procedure. I have read many things and I am very nervous about this. I am only 21 and I want to have kids within the next 5 years, I don’t want this procedure to hurt my chances or get rid of any chance.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should do in this situation or if you had the procedure done at my age? Or any age and what were your side effects? Also, are there any other options than a LEEP that wont affect my changes of having kids?

Hey,

I know you must be scared, but take a deep breath, you are going to be okay. I have never personally had a LEEP procedure but I know all about them. LEEP is one of the safer procedures, and should no affect any chances of having children. All it is is a wire loop, with a high electrical charge. It will vaporize the tissue of concern. If you have any more questions let me know.
