Tarceva side effects

I have been on Tarceva now for 3 months.  i had a few 'zits' on my face and buttocks, but nothing serious.  Has anyone had any problems with bladder infections and pain in the kidney?  I had what I thought was another kidney stone, went on antibiotics for 10 days.  The infection cleared up for 3 days, then when it came back I had blood , quite a bit, in my urine.  Hurt very badly this time. My dr. suggested I have my primary care dr. send me to an urologist. I have had kidney stones since I was 20 years old and I thought that is what is happening, but, I really believe it is something else.  Please tell me if anyone on Tarceva has this problem.

Remember: NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!

I was on Tarceva for 5 1/2 months before building up toxicity in my lungs that caused severe inflamation and had to stop.  It was very effective in reducing the size of my tumors.  I never had any kidney problems or skin issues excpet for very dry skin.  The biggest side effect for me was hair thinning, which wasn't suppose to happen but I seem to be the one that has all the rare side effects from every drug I've taken.  Tarceva is great but I would continue to insist with your doctor that the pain be investigated.  There is a reason for your pain and they can do an MRI or CT scan and determine what is causing it or at least determine whether or not there is any metastases.  Good luck to you.  Also, maybe you could take a lower dosage of the Tarceva if they determine the pain is coming from the drug.
