He is having radiation for the metastases on his brain and shall have chemotherapy for his lung cancer. Has anybody had experience with chemotherapy with Avastin and Tarceva for this type of cancer. By the way he never smoked in his life. He is 62 years old and in very good physical condition. I am very grateful for any kind of answer about the treatment of adeno carcinom.

Hello Siegren. I just wanted to point out that "adeno carcinoma" really just describes the cancer cell type, and this type is found in many, many different cancers. In fact, it is the most widely found type, I think. For instance, I have gallbladder cancer and the type of cell is also adeno carcinoma, like your father's. But it sounds like your father has lung cancer, so more important is which kind of lung cancer he has (small cell, etc.). Tarceva and Avastin are both very good drugs and have been helpful to many, but I don't have more knowledge of lung cancer and the treatments for it. I am sure someone with more knowledge than me will give your better advice here on this site. I wish you and your brother the best of luck. I lost a dear friend to lung cancer, and she never smoked a cigarette in her life. Sometimes it just happens that way.
