Hi,

Recently my husband felt a knot / lump on left side of neck, 2 fingers below jaw line. This knot / lump is not visible, but can be felt when you press with fingers.

Normally it is not painful, but pains when pressed hard.

We suspected that it might be twisted of muscles due to bad sleeping position / pillow, however its been 3 days and the lump / knot is still there even after applying muscle relaxing ointment and using Heat Pack.

This is the first time he is experiencing this, he's almost 30 yrs.

I'm very worried... PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks.

Hi,

Don't panic. Has your husband been ill lately, like sore throat, fever, or had any weight loss? I would definitely go to your primary care dr. It could just be his body fighting off an infection. But don't let it linger long.

If anything does come up, this site is a wonderful outlet.

I will be thinking and praying for both of you!

God bless!

Pam gave you good advice.
Go to your primary care doctor soon. Hope it is not anything but I had a small pea sized lump on the left side of my neck six years ago and my primary sent me to a surgeon who told me the thought I had cancer.  He was correct and after treatment, I have been in remission for 5 1/2 years.

I hope yours is nothing, but what can you gain by waiting?

The first time my mother had a knot below her neck she had to go to an ENT.  He decided it needed to come out.  He thought it was a saliva gland that was stopped up.  He was wrong, but that was ok.  It turned out to be a stone with infection.  My mom looked at the doctor afterward and said "Everyone told me I had rocks in my head, now I can prove it."

The second time she developed something hard on her gum line it was cancer.  She is a smoker and 69 years old.  Smoked most of her life.

It could be nothing, stopped up saliva gland, or anything.  Just get it checked out for peace of mind.

With my mom, I know God is in control and I have to depend on Him.  He is my Rock and the one I lean on.
